ST. THOMAS UNIVERSITY SYSTEM

STU embraces the American model of distance learning with a mission to foster human connection—despite geographic boundaries—through digital education.

Our pedagogical model, Innovative Didactics, is built on:

  • Multimedia tools and interactive materials
  • Personalized learning paths
  • System interoperability for seamless use
  • Flexible access for diverse student needs
  • Emphasis on collaboration and dialogue through guided tutor support and peer engagement

All educational activities are conducted within a web-based Learning Management System (LMS). STU’s approach ensures that students are never isolated; instead, they are integrated into a learning community, supported by tutors and peers.

Our system enables:

  • Reduced reliance on physical infrastructure
  • Elimination of travel-related barriers
  • Accommodation of working professionals, remote learners, and students with disabilities
  • Enhanced student participation, academic performance, and faculty engagement
  • Improved administrative access and student support
  • Real-time learning progress monitoring

Program oversight and management are provided by the following colleges, in collaboration with the Academic Senate and Curriculum Committee:

  • College of Interdisciplinary Studies
  • College of Health Sciences
  • College of Innovation and Intelligence
  • College of International Business

To support continuous improvement, STU has established a Self-Evaluation Committee responsible for ongoing academic assessment and institutional development.
