CREDIT HOUR ASSIGNMENT

Academic progress at STU is measured in credit hours (CH):

  • Bachelor’s degree: Minimum of 120 credit hours
  • Master’s degree: Between 36–60 credit hours (depending on the program)

Each 3-credit course is structured in 5–6 units consisting of:

  • Instructional content: Video lectures, discussions, quizzes, readings, and interactive activities (33–48 total hours)
  • Study activities: Independent reading, research, written assignments, and analysis (66–126 total hours)

Some programs require internships, which involve:

  • Preparatory workshops and simulations
  • Supervised, real-world practice
  • Reflective sessions and instructor feedback each internship equate to 60 hours per 1 credit hour.

The number of credits assigned to internships reflects the level of engagement required to achieve the program’s intended learning outcomes and graduate with a professionally relevant skillset.
