CREDIT HOUR ASSIGNMENT
Academic progress at STU is measured in credit hours (CH):
- Bachelor’s degree: Minimum of 120 credit hours
- Master’s degree: Between 36–60 credit hours (depending on the program)
Each 3-credit course is structured in 5–6 units consisting of:
- Instructional content: Video lectures, discussions, quizzes, readings, and interactive activities (33–48 total hours)
- Study activities: Independent reading, research, written assignments, and analysis (66–126 total hours)
Some programs require internships, which involve:
- Preparatory workshops and simulations
- Supervised, real-world practice
- Reflective sessions and instructor feedback each internship equate to 60 hours per 1 credit hour.
The number of credits assigned to internships reflects the level of engagement required to achieve the program’s intended learning outcomes and graduate with a professionally relevant skillset.
