ACADEMIC PLANNING
St. Thomas University offers a range of degree programs through its various colleges, including:
- Four-year bachelor’s programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
- Two-year master’s programs providing specialized, graduate-level training
While both B.A. and B.Sc. degrees carry similar academic weight, they differ in structure:
- The B.A. program balances coursework between major-specific classes and general education/elective requirements.
- The B.Sc. program provides greater depth in the major field, with fewer electives and a more focused curriculum.
All students are responsible for ensuring they meet the degree requirements of their chosen program.
At the graduate level, STU’s master’s programs focus on specialization and interdisciplinary thinking. Students are expected to develop advanced analytical skills and subject knowledge that can support continued academic pursuits or professional advancement.
The Master’s Thesis is a defining element of the graduate experience. Students engage in faculty-led research, gaining hands-on experience in project design, academic inquiry, and critical evaluation. This experience also helps students determine their readiness for potential doctoral study or entry into the professional field.
